Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

UCLA Football formally announced the new leaders of the recruiting and personnel staff; Butler Benton: general manager, Chris Carter: assistant general manager and director of player personnel Stacey Ford

All are embarking on their first season with UCLA under head coach DeShaun Foster. Benton most recently was assistant athletic director for Notre Dame. Carter left cross-town rival, USC, where he was director of player development the past two seasons to join the Bruins. Ford was the director of recruiting for Washington State.

UCLA Football Continues to Emphasize Recruiting

Foster has placed an increased importance on recruiting and these are men who will lead that effort. When speaking with the media, Foster said that they have barely scratched the surface of their recruiting effort.

Coach Foster went on to say that, “He isn’t doing anything different.” “He is just showing what UCLA has to offer.” He said these efforts will have a running downhill effect as momentum builds, it will be “just like an avalanche.”

Getting this team in place seems like one of the first concrete steps toward starting that avalanche.
